Vibrant Andaman

Today I am going to share my first tour experience at Andaman with MountainEdge.

Hey Readers, Prasad here. I m basically from Mumbai. A month back me and my friends been to the Andaman. It was 3 nights and 4 days journey. No doubt journey was awesome. so here to share my views.

It was Saturday and we initiated our journey from Mumbai Andheri international airport. flight scheduled by 1am from Mumbai to Chennai and then Chennai to Port Blair. As per our schedule, we reach our source 2 hours prior. As it was a little bit long journey what we assumed so we had dinner outside and we headed towards the airport. we did our check-in and waited in the waiting room for the board. meanwhile had a glimpse of old recall.

finally, the time arrived and we boarded into flight. I was full of excitement to reach there as soon as possible As I had some weird affection towards that journey. within less than 2 hours we reached Chennai and waited for another call from flight to depart to Port Blair. and now only another 2 hours to reach Port Blair. reached somehow. after came outside of the airport. there was a cab driver named Mr.Raju. waiting for us holding name from my one of a group member. he drove us to our respective hotel. he was very talkative. he gave a hint about their people's lifestyle and their specialty. he was so enthusiastic to share all about his daily routine we just couldn't stop him.

we reached our hotel by morning 7am. we had to wait in the hotel lobby for 3 hours till we get done our check-in. we did the check-in. A refreshment drink was served by the hotel as a warm welcome for us. our destination for day1 was Corbyn Cove beach and cellular jail. as per our itinerary, we became ready and waiting for a cab driver to reach our destination.

Corbyn Cove beach is well known for its cleanliness, crystal clear water, and white sand. It is ideal for sea bathing, sun-basking and is a great place to enjoy water sports laze around, and watch mesmerizing sunset. Some of my friends enjoyed the speed boat and others gone for the speed boat. there was not much difference in their cost. Jet ski for around 650rs for 5-10 mins rides whereas speedboat ride comes in 550rs for approx 20-25mins ride. The evening spot was Celluar jail. so we headed towards the same.

Cellular Jail is also known as Kala Pani and is one of the most splendid structures built by the British almost a century ago, its been an abode of political and penal convicts during the British era and has addressed some of the most brutal excesses of the British colonial history. A huge number of freedom fighters from different proclaimed Anti-British activities ended up in cellular jail. Savarkar brothers, Hoti Lal Verma, Babu Ram Hari, Pandit Parmanand, Ladha Ram, Ullaskar Dutt, Barindra Kumar Ghosh, Indu Bhushan Roy, Prithvi Singh Azad are a few of the well-known ones. In the afternoon we visited the cellular jail. evening there was a sound and light show. the show usually takes one hour and available in Hindi and English language. show fare was around 150rs and was same for all age people. This show basically takes u through an anecdote of a penal convict's life spent in cellular jail and will give a glimpse of torture in a jail they faced. The torture in jail was way beyond human endurance.

We had an overnight stayed in port Blair at the same hotel.

Now it's time to farewell Port-Blair. We got served morning breakfast from the hotel. after we proceed for havelock island. To reach havelock island one must need to catch a ferry from the Port Blair harbor. government and private ferries both provide services and which take 1.5 hours to 2 hours to reach. both ferries have options as per our comfort and convenience. we rented bikes to explore havelock. Havelock Island abode of beaches, famous for its swimming elephants and unbeatable reef. The best places to visit havelock are Radhanagar Beach, Kalapathar Beach, Vijaynagar Beach, Elephant beach. both veg and non-veg food are available here. havelock island is the best place for those who r looking for a peaceful environment.

The spot of the day was Radhangar Beach. Beach is widely known for white sand, crystal clear water, and water sports activity. It is an embodiment of paradise to those who love to stay in the environment of the sea and sun. This beach is ideal for sunbathing, leisure walks, and water sports activities. We had a walk on the beach and we participated in scuba-diving and kayaking. The cost of scuba diving was around 3k and kayaking was around 4k. but we got a combined package of 5.5k. Those who have fear of water should give it a try especially. Experience of scuba-diving was next-level. by the evening we went back to Port Blair. as we had to catch a flight on the next morning. we had an overnight stay in Port Blair.

With lots of memories and mesmerizing moments, We were departed to Port Blair airport for going back to Mumbai.
